Create a spark by day and watch it illuminate the night. Step into the glow of Spark where the celestial Fire Spirit ‘Nova’ enchants the audience with light, movement and magic in a fiery celebration of wonder and dance. The giant, illuminated Fire Spirit puppet embodies the essence of fire and light, spreading wonder and awe as she hovers through the crowd and lights up the night.

Come along with Nova as she wakes and travels from the Bondi Pavilion Courtyard down to the sandy shores of Bondi Beach where she with ignite a bonfire to keep us warm in the depths of winter, as we say goodbye to Bondi Festival for 2026.

It will be a day and night to remember for all in attendance, young and old!

Spark Workshop

Join us for SPARK, a shared celebration of hope and igniting the lights within us! Step into a glowing world of wonder by crafting unique ‘Spark’ puppets, then learn how to bring them to life and gather around our sleeping fire spirit – Nova! You are invited to whisper your hopes for the future to her, helping to light up her heart and awaken her glowing magic. A story for the seasons brought to Bondi Festival by Curious Legends, this special performance is a reminder that even the smallest spark can kindle hope, warmth and connection.

SPARK Workshop and Show Schedule

Spark Workshop: Building Lanterns – Every 30 minutes from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Spark Performance Workshop: 6:00pm – 6:25pm

Spark Puppet Performance: Begins in courtyard 6:30pm – 7:15pm

Follow Nova as she travels from the Bondi Pavilion Courtyard, through beautiful Bondi Park down to Bondi Beach to send our magic into the night and awaken the Bonfire!

The workshop is recommended for primary age children. Parents and adults are welcome and encouraged to join us on Nova’s journey through Bondi.
