Create a spark by day and watch it illuminate the night. Step into the glow of Spark where the celestial Fire Spirit ‘Nova’ enchants the audience with light, movement and magic in a fiery celebration of wonder and dance. The giant, illuminated Fire Spirit puppet embodies the essence of fire and light, spreading wonder and awe as she hovers through the crowd and lights up the night.

Come along with Nova as she wakes and travels from the Bondi Pavilion Courtyard down to the sandy shores of Bondi Beach where she with ignite a bonfire to keep us warm in the depths of winter, as we say goodbye to Bondi Festival for 2026.

It will be a day and night to remember for all in attendance, young and old!

Spark Workshop

Join us for the ‘SPARK’ workshop – becoming a creature in the night! Spend the afternoon crafting unique ‘Spark’ puppets. Then, as night begins to fall, learn the tricks on how to bring the creation to life.

With every minute that passes, watch as the giant fire spirit Nova wakes up from her slumber and set the night sky ablaze.

A story for the seasons, this special performance centres around hope lighting up the darkness around us.

The workshop is recommended for primary age children.

Spark is presented to Bondi Festival by Curious Legends.
