Have you ever wanted to grow your own fruit and vegetables in your backyard or on your balcony? It’s easier than you think, deliciously rewarding, plus lots of fun for kids and adults alike.

Waverley Council is a Foundation Partner of a new initiative called Grow It Local and wants to educate, inspire and empower more residents to grow, share and eat locally grown food. Come to the Bondi Festival Backyard to register for Grow It Local and receive packets of heirloom and organic seeds to grow in your own backyard, with links to instructive how-to videos, designed by tv host, author and master grower Paul West. You’ll also enjoy access to fortnightly live, digital workshops and connection with other like-minded growers to swap, share and exchange homegrown produce. Council will also be giving away free compost bins and worm farms for residents who join Council’s award-winning Compost Revolution program.

Every Saturday of the Bondi Festival, our Backyard will host sustainability-focused pop-ups from 10.30am – 12pm. Pop by for some free advice on composting at home, going plastic-free, recycling, growing your own vegies and much, much more.

Address: Roscoe Street Mall, Bondi Beach NSW 2026, Australia
