What if Bowie married the Pope? What if dinosaurs learned the art of taking the perfect selfie?
Arachnid is mixed up and messed up; an inverted exploration of the paradise of grief. Our character, Junior, is three versions of a person: one that exists in loops, another in the folds of family, and a third, stranger division, made mobile by poetry. Arachnid is an audio visual adventure slash cartoon portrait of ordinary reality which abstracts the interior film strip of self-hood and makes space for a distinctive voice to experiment with space, sound and subject.
Embracing the melancholy and humour of inescapable realities, Arachnid asks: how do you find yourself, in a world where everything exterior appears to propel you toward different identities and varied parameters of control?
Arachnid is a poetry-pulp pop-mirage of sweaty self-realisation that experiments with form and reconfigures the anatomy of a queer journey. The show is a character smoothie. A long run into the night. An imaginary friend. The intersection of self through split personality. Fear of spiders. Too many legs. Too many funerals.
