“We fell in love with Bec when she was dressed up as an ibis at a comedy night in 2018. One of the most clever and endearing comics in Australia, we are stoked to have her first solo show at the Festival.” – Rachel Chant, Festival Director

Bec Melrose is an Absolute Goose and she reckons it’s pretty great.

After a sell-out run at Sydney Fringe with her debut hour Big Dolphin Energy, Bec is back with the same wry wit and a brand new show. Join one of comedy’s brightest new talents and ruffle some feathers!

After taking out RAW Comedy in 2018, Bec went on to place in the So You Think You’re Funny competition at the Edinburgh Fringe and was selected for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Comedy Zone in 2019. Around town you may have seen Bec at the Comedy Store, The Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour or heard her on Newsfighters, A Rational Fear or Story Club: The Podcast. Bec has written for Tonightly with Tom Ballard and has appeared at Comedy Bites, Story Club, Triple J’s Good Az Friday, Nova’s Hits & Giggles and Comedy Up Late.

WINNER: RAW Comedy (2018)
NOMINEE: Best Comedy, Sydney Fringe Festival (2019)

“An immediate Sydney Fringe 2018 high point.” Chuck Moore Reviews

“Bec is sardonic and astute, with strong, distinctive gags concealing a socially conscious edge.”  Chortle

“Bec delivered the night’s most intellectually sophisticated and politically astute of routines.”  Herald Sun
