Let the good times roll

Bondi Festival 2020 will not be going ahead in July as planned.

Rather than cancelling our 2020 program outright, we are planning to bring you a rescheduled and reimagined version of Bondi Festival from 26 September – 10 October 2020.

Read our full statement.

Bondi Festival is an arts festival and an all-ages adventure zone that explodes into life every winter, bringing families and cultures vultures to the world’s most famous beach. At least, that’s usually the plan.

Having postponed our July festival due to public health restrictions, our 2020 festival has been rescheduled and re-imagined, designed to inject arts, culture and a little bit of joy back into Bondi this spring.

We’re thrilled to bring you our spring festival, which will continue to showcase an incredible arts program, as well as welcoming back our Bondi Vista Ferris Wheel and introducing the Bondi Roller Rink.

This much-loved arts festival is a flagship event for Waverley Council, proudly presented in partnership with Bondi and Districts Chamber of Commerce.

“A sanctuary of warmth and fun away from the cold winter nights… it’s the place to be.”

The Story So Far:

Over the past 10 years Bondi Festival has built itself as a mid-winter institution for Bondi locals and visitors, as well as the local and national arts industry. Growing from humble roots (a couple of shows in a curtained meeting room), Bondi Festival is now a major event drawing robust crowds down to the beach in the off-season. Previously known as ‘Bondi Feast’ and ‘Bondi Winter Magic’, 2020 sees us launch our new rebranded and reinvigorated identity, Bondi Festival.

What:

15 days and nights of arty business. Bondi Festival is festival of comedy, theatre, cabaret, music, storytelling, arts, roller-skating, walking tours, pop-up artworks, installations, hot food, cold drinks, family fun and much, much more.

Our full festival program will be announced 26 August 2020.

Who:

Bondi Festival is presented by the good people at Waverley Council in partnership with Bondi and Districts Chamber of Commerce.

Where:

The 2020 program will have events all over Bondi, popping up in shopfronts, car parks, community halls, playgrounds and other festive nooks and/or crannies.

When:

26 September – 10 October 2020

Tickets:

Tickets for all events are purchasable via our website. Tickets for all shows start from $10, with some freebies chucked in for good measure. Check out our Terms and Conditions here.

Volunteer:

If you have nothing but time and energy and would like to give some of that, for a few hours, a few nights, or a few weeks, then please email bondifestival@waverley.nsw.gov.au and become part of the Festival family.
